Youth: For Surfers Who Are Not Done Growing

The full Vissla youth offer in one place: boys apparel, kids gear and youth wetsuits, built with the same fabrics as the adult line and none of the condescension.

Groms surf harder on gear than adults do. Everything here is made to survive that, then get handed down.

How to Buy for a Young Surfer

Fit first, and resist the urge to size up. A wetsuit two sizes too big flushes cold water down the back and a cold grom becomes a grom who does not want to surf. Buy for now, accept that it lasts a season, and check the size guide against actual measurements rather than age. For apparel, sizing up is fine and often sensible. For rubber, it is the fastest way to ruin a winter.

      What Is in the Range

Boys boardshorts, tees, hoodies and walkshorts from roughly 8 to 16, smaller kids sizes below that, and a full youth wetsuit range from summer springs to hooded winter steamers. Back zip entry on the younger suits so they can manage it without a parent in the car park.

      Why Vissla

We build youth gear on the same limestone neoprene and recycled fabrics as everything else, at the same construction standard. A grom suit is not a toy version of a wetsuit, it is a wetsuit. Handing one down to a younger sibling should be normal, and it is.

Warm kids surf longer. That is the entire strategy.
