Hoodies and Fleece: The Gear That Never Gets Wet

The hoodie is the most important piece of surf equipment that never gets wet. It is what you wear at 7am in the Hossegor parking lot while deciding if 1.5 meters of gray Atlantic is worth it, and what you collapse into after deciding it was.

Our surf hoodies and fleece run heavyweight, with brushed interiors, real pockets, and hoods that actually block wind. Post-surf engineering, perfected. When even the hoodie is not enough, the jackets are next door.

      How to Choose a Hoodie

Weight and loft are everything. A midweight fleece is your year-round European companion, fine for August evenings in the Algarve and layerable through winter. A heavyweight is for the real season: dawn patrols in Ireland, North Sea missions, any surf check where the wind chill does the talking. Fit should allow a tee underneath at minimum, a flannel ideally, and full post-surf shivering posture always.

      What Is in the Range

Pullover and zip-up surf hoodies, crew fleece, and sherpa-lined options for people who have given up pretending winter is fine. Brushed-back interiors as standard, kangaroo pockets that hold cold hands and car keys, and hoods cut generously enough to work over wet hair. Branding stays quiet, fabric stays heavy, and the colors are the ones that hide wax, sand, and three days of road trip.

      Why Vissla

Surfing in Europe is a cold-weather sport with brief warm interruptions, and our fleece program is built on that honest premise. The fabrics are chosen for warmth-to-weight, the cuffs and hems recover instead of sagging, and the whole range is tested by the only metric that matters: whether you reach for it before every single surf between October and May. You will.

The wetsuit gets the glory. The hoodie does the recovery.
