San Miguel Live Shaping

Vissla in collaboration with the Surf, Music & Friends Festival presented the

"San Miguel Live Shaping" in Salinas, Spain early August.

Some of the best surfboard craftsmen in Spain met for 4 days of live shaping sessions during the festival in the Vissla Shaping Container. With glassing and sanding containers also on site they had the opportunity to work live on a board from start to finish showing 100% handmade surfboard manufacturing.

The highlight of this long weekend was seen as the whole crew of shapers shared together some of their insights and tips about making surfboards directly with the public who could get up close and get involved. See the board shaped, smell the resin, feel the foamdust�the passion and stoke shown by the shapers was felt by everyone.

Apart from the shaping side of the event some sustainability workshops (with our own Vissla's Chris Evans) also took place with some beach cleaning sessions happening over the weekend to leave the beach as we found it.

At night free concerts were hosted and the californian rock band "The Alive" crushed it!
